September 13 was Grandparents Day. Before this month is over, I want to share a testimony of how I prayed to God for years (even when it was just a thought around 2021) to let my grandpa live long enough to see/hear the record of his life story that shows the legacy he has left behind for his offspring, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other dear relatives to hear and see.
I interviewed him in 2023 and even he hoped that God would let him see at least 3 more years….well, look at God! My grandpa is still here. And what made this month special is hearing my grandpa express his gratitude when he watched the video that I finally was able to put together and share with him a few weeks ago. Glory unto God!
We learn a lot from listening to others, but when we listen to our elderly or those who have paved the way for us, we get the chance to glean from their wisdom and understand their choices.
Listen in as we go back in time to my grandpa’s childhood, his time as a mechanic, raising a family, overcoming racial barriers and even his love for young people.
The goal for you: If you still have parents or grandparents alive today, capture their life story and the lessons they have learned along their journey. You may realize the blessing in it until they become a memory.
